本教程是为满足全日制普通民办本科院校艺术类专业大学英语教学以及艺术类学生个性化发展的需要而编写的。教程分为上、下册两部分，其总目标是通过打好“基础”、应用“生活”、传播“文化”，最终服务“专业”，培养国际化艺术类人才。教程以项目的实施过程为主体，引出各个知识点；能采取恰当的教学方法和手段满足项目教学的需要，调动学生的积极性，有效拓展项目。依据教学目标、成果导向及子项目要求进行教程中不同内容的选材，为项目目标服务。
