《综合教程》高级阶段是《综合教程》基础阶段的延续，也分四册，本册为第五册，供英语专业三年级第一学期使用。

第五册共有16个单元，每个单元由Text I、Text II和相关的练习构成。

本册所有的课文均选自第一手的英文资料，除了原文偏长需要删节以及少数冷僻词语作了替换外，一律保持原文的风貌，尽最大可能为学生提供原汁原味的英语语言素材。
