Frodo must leave his home and make a perilous journey across Middle-earth to the Cracks of Doom, there to destroy the Ring and foil the Dark Lord in his evil purpose.

This is the first part of a three-book edition in A-format paperback which reproduces the complete unabridged text of the three books, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King, that together make up The Lord of the Rings. The Appendices and Index are included in The Return of the King. This reset edition contains newly drawn maps by Stephen Raw,based on Christopher Tolkien’s original maps.
