这本《教育英语阅读教程》以CBI理念为支撑来选择和设计课文及练习。本教程共10个单元，每个单元由两篇主题相关的课文及相关练习构成。前两个单元内容分别是4位美国学者对美国中小学和大学教育中倡导的“批判性思维”的反思。通过这两个单元的学习，学生可以客观、理性地看待西方国家教育优缺点，理解中国教育问题产生的原因以及中国教育的优势，最终做到当面对国外纷繁复杂的教育理论时能够审慎思考、“取其精华，去其糟粕”，使这些理论扎根于中国的教育现实，真正做到把这些教育理论本土化。
