During these years I also grew to know and respect the guys in the camera wells for the terrific job they do in capturing our great game. The late V. J. Lovero was a part favorite of mine. Without him and others like him, so many baseball memories would be lost.

So it is with great pleasure that I write the foreword to Grand Old Game: 365 Days of Boseball. More than any other game, baseball is steeped in history, and this rich history lives on in the pages of this wonderful book.
