本教材包括8个单元，每个单元均涵盖四个模块：听说模块、阅读模块、写译模块和反思模块。本教材每个单元内容均围绕主题（theme）设置，突出中医专业英语特点，帮助学生掌握必要的中医（或医学）英语词汇，从词/短语-短句-段落/篇章逐渐递进学习，培养学生中医英语听、说、读、写、译等语言技能，练习设计兼顾中医英语水平测试要求，着重培养学生围绕中医基本内容进行沟通的交流能力，帮助学生奠定学术英语基础，以便顺利进入更高层次的专业英语学习。
