陈静主编的《艺术英语（创新专业英语）》是根据新时代我国大学英语教学的基本要求，为艺术专业学生量身定制的英语教材。本着外语课为专业课服务的原则，结合艺术专业学生的特点，本书是一本针对艺术专业大学本科高年级学生及艺术类研究生的英语阅读教材。
本书根据调研所得的学生需求，提出适合艺术专业学生可持续发展的通用英语（EGP）和专门用途英语（ESP）相结合的教学方案。一方面，EGP教学与通识教育内容相匹配，突出英语课程的人文性、思想性、批判性和创新性，使语言习得与人文熏陶融为一体。另一方面，ESP教学与需要的具体专业技能相匹配，针对学生的个人发展与职业发展，培养学生不同文化间交流与合作的能力、协作能力、适应工作的能力、独立提出建议和讨论的能力等。
本书共8个单元，每个单元包括单元主题导入、3篇阅读文章及课后练习。
导入部分：通过名言引用、思维导图、图文提问等形式，激活学生的背景知识，激发学生的兴趣和思考。
阅读文章：配有详尽的文化背景知识的介绍和词汇短语的注释，使学生在教师的帮助下通过阅读文章掌握阅读技巧，提高学生阅读理解艺术专业英语文献的能力。
课后练习：主要包括词汇题和理解题两大类。题型多样，包括配对题、填空题、翻译题、选择题以及思考讨论题等，可帮助学生掌握略读、跳读等阅读技巧，提高篇章理解能力，鼓励学生开拓思维，启发其对相关话题的批判性思考。
书后附有练习答案和单词表，可供学生自学时参考。
本书可以作为大学英语提高阶段及研究生公共英语学习阶段的泛读教材使用。使用本教材时，教师可根据学生需求和教学目标选用课文和设计教学，引导学生自主阅读，培养良好的阅读习惯。
