New York: February 9 – February 16, 2012
London: February 17 – February 22, 2012
Milan: February 22 – February 28, 2012
Paris (RTW): February 28 – March 7, 2012
Los Angeles: March 8 – March 18, 2012
Tokyo: March 18 – March 24, 2012

Fashion Week is a fashion industry event, lasting approximate one week. It allows fashion designers, brands (“houses”) to show their latest collections in runway shows where buys and the media take a look at the latest trends. These events let the fashion industry know what’s “in” for the upcoming season. The most prominent fashion weeks are in: New York City, London, Milan, and Paris. Various cities around the world have also started having their own fashion weeks.

Fashion Week(s) are semiannual events. January – April shows showcase the upcoming fall/winter collections. September – November shows showcase the upcoming spring/summer collections. These events are held months before the upcoming season so that buyers can arrange purchases and incorporate the upcoming trends in their retail marketing.
